Thank you to all of you who helped to make West Gardiner's Wreaths Across America Day - December 17, 2022 a wonderful, memorable day.
It was the 6th year that the Town of West Gardiner has honored our veterans on this day. This was the 3rd year that we have had enough wreaths to cover all 200+ veterans's graves in all of West Gardiner's 7 cemeteries.
This year's ceremony will take place on December 16, 2023 at 9 AM in front of the Town Office.
Nine wreaths will be placed in front of the Veteran's Memorial that morning by 9 West Gardiner veterans in a special ceremony.
After the wreath placement at the memorial, the wreaths that have been purchased and donated for the veteran's graves will be distributed to all the volunteers to be placed in the 7 cemeteries.

Additionally, we are not even close to reaching our goal of 205 wreaths for this year's ceremony.
As with most things lately, the price has gone up slightly for the cost of the wreaths.
Wreaths Across America had to raise the price of the wreaths from $15 to $17 each..
For every 2 wreaths that are purchased, West Gardiner will receive 1 free wreath.

You can purchase them by dropping a check off at the Town Office made out to Wreaths Across America or to the Town of West Gardiner (and designating that it is for WAA - wreaths) or by going to the Wreaths Across America website and purchasing the wreaths online. The site is

There is a RED block in the center of the page that states Wreaths. Under that block are the words "Local Sponsorship Group". Please click on the words "Local Sponsorship Group".
In the area where it asks you the group to support, please type in West Gardiner and hit Enter. You will see the words "West Gardiner Historical Society (ME0073)/163359". Select that choice and it will also automatically fill in the next block Location to Support with the words "West Gardiner, Maine Area Cemeteries, West Gardiner, Maine".
